The Texas Heritage Songwriters’ Association announced its 2014 inductees February 26: Buck Owens, K.T. Oslin and Waylon Jennings. Oslin, a grammy winner, will perform at the organization’s ninth annual event June 22 at ACL Live at the Moody Theater, while Jennings and Owens — both being inducted posthumously — will be honored with performances by country music icons. In what’s certain to be an intimate, moving tribute, Jessi Colter, Jenning’s wife and longtime singing partner, will perform alongside their son, singer-songwriter Shooter Jennings. Kris Kristofferson, a previous inductee (and part of the Highwaymen supergroup with Jennings, Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson) will also pay tribute to the country outlaw. And as a tribute to Owens, king of the Bakersfield sound, Lee Roy Parnell and Bonnie Bishop will perform, backed by a star-studded house band. The trio joins previous honorees such as Townes Van Zandt, Willie Nelson and Lyle Lovett.
